May is Mental Health Month!
So what does this mean right? Well it can mean a few things. One, May is a month where we can help to spread awareness of mental illnesses, signs and symptoms of them and where to go to talk to a professional. Two, help to end the stigma of mental illness and going to talk to a professional about your mental health. It is a reality that still in the year 2010 there is a stigma of one having a mental illness, and going to talk to a therapist. The only way to help end this stigma is through educating others and educating oneself. This is also a great month to learn a bit more about yourself. Take time to take some quizzes on what your personality is like, or what your stress level is. Evaluate your current daily habits, are there any you would like to change, work on? Maybe you want them to stay the same. Maybe you want to make more time for you, or more time to see a loved on. This could be a perfect month to say, okay, I'm going to really start to put into place some changes that will in turn affect my overall mood and this all relates to our overall mental health.
